How about making an adorable and fun craft? How about turning your little turkey into an actual little turkey with a cute turkey headband? They’ll be the sweetest little turkey in the land. My kids – both the oldest and youngest – love crafting with feathers. There’s something special about making something with colorful feathers and googly eyes.
Supplies need to make a Turkey Headband Craft
- Brown construction paper
- Orange construction paper
- Googly eyes
- Tape or stapler
How to make a Turkey Headband Craft
Cut 2 stripes of brown construction paper to make your headband; I cut ours about an 1-1/2 thick. Glue or tape the stripes together and set aside. Cut a circle out of the brown construction paper; I traced a roll of masking tape to make my circle. Cut 2 small orange triangles, and notch one side of each to create the turkey legs. Cut one small orange triangle for the turkey beak.
Place 3 dots of glue on the circle, and add the googly eyes and beak to the turkey.
Flip the turkey over. Glue the turkey legs to the bottom of the back so they stick out from the bottom of the turkey, and the feathers should be fanned out on the back. Make sure the feathers stick up enough to see them well over the top of the turkey.
Glue the turkey onto the head band and set aside to dry. When it’s dry, use your little one’s head to measure the strips, and use the tape or stapler to attach the strips together to create a headband.
