Earth Day is coming up fast! Monday, April 22nd. Whether you do something BIG like plant a tree or participate in a local community event or just do something small at home, Earth Day is a great day to celebrate our planet. And, there are so many wonderful ways to celebrate! Earth Day Activities

1. Make some Earth-inspired fun foods! I know my boys would love to wake-up to some Earth pancakes or have these cute Earth Day cookies from TidyMom. She’s got a full tutorial on how to make them! Earth Day Cookies2. Go on a nature walk or hike! Just spending less time in the car that day would be fabulous. But, getting outside and doing a walk with the kids would be great! You can see how we like to stroll through the desert! ;) Night-blooming cactus3. Do some outdoor projects. There are SO many activities and crafts you could do outside for Earth Day. One of our favorites is gardening with the kids! If you do have a garden, making some painted rock garden markers would be a fun Earth Day activity! Or, if you don’t garden, then do something nice for the animals in your yard by making some DIY bird feeders!  Bird Feeders4. Make some Earth-inspired crafts. How about a stained-glass planet Earth, playdoh Earth, or some Earth-inspired crayons?! Kids would love all of those!

5. Make crafts from recycled materials. There are SO many great ideas out there for this, but I happen to think these cereal box notepads are really cute & clever! Click on the link to get the full tutorial on how to make them!

 6. Read a book or watch a movie! There are so many great books out there about helping the Earth (like the Lorax) and so many great nature films! Last year, we loved DisneyNature’s Chimpanzee!

7. Take an Earth Day pledge! Have a conversation with your kids about things they could do to help the planet. Have them write down their answers (or do it for them if they are little). If you want a cute card to write it on, you can download a pledge card here.
