How to Make Pumpkin Spice Playdough
- Heat water to boiling. While the waters heats mix flour, salt, cream of tartar, coconut oil, and spices in a mixing bowl.
- Add boiling water to the bowl and use a wooden spoon to mix it until it is smooth.
- When the dough has cooled enough to handle separate it into equal portions for the number of colors you intend to make. We started out planning to just make orange, but decided to also make red and yellow, and leave some in the tan-ish color of the uncolored dough to cover a variety of fall colors.
- To color the dough create an indention in the dough and add drops of food coloring fold the dough over the food coloring and then knead it until the color is worked throughout the dough. The amount of coloring needed will varybased on your food coloring, and the specific shades you are going for.
Once the colors are mixed into your playdough you’re ready to go. Pull out your rolling pins and cookie cutters and get to playing with your delightfully pumpkine spice scented dough. Maybe you could even get out a pie plate and make a pretend pumpkin pie?
