As a mother of two who spends quite a bit of her time each day cooking, feeding her family, and cleaning up the kitchen I must be honest. My number one request on Mother’s Day is that I not have to cook, feed anyone, or clean up from cooking and feeding anyone. I love cooking, but sometimes I relish a nice break from the stove. I’m easy to please I guess. In honor of Mothers everywhere who need a break from the kitchen and a day filled with amazing food made for them I’ve compiled the things you’ll need to put together a Mother’s Day brunch to remember.
Remember to Pamper her. No mother out there will feel disappointed at getting pampered on Mother’s Day. There are countless ways to do this. Make her favorite breakfast or brunch foods. Let her sleep in. Get out the china and set the table to the nines. Or serve her brunch in bed with a hefty side of peace and quiet. No matter how you choose to pamper mom she will appreciate it.
Don’t forget the details. A simple flower arrangement on the table, a piping hot cup of coffee served with her favorite creamer, and a meal made up of her favorite flavors and dishes will make the difference between a nice brunch and a fantastic brunch she will remember.
Feed her well. If mom is a fan of coffee and donuts whip up an Iced Mocha and some indulgent Baked Nutella Doughnuts. Mom loves berries? A Baked Triple Berry Puff Pancake with lemon-vanilla yogurt and a raspberry smoothie will surely fit the bill. Greek Mini Fritattas and Banana Maple Pancakes might just make your brunch the talk of the day, or month.
Let mom kick up her feet. Do not forget a key part of a successful Mother’s Day brunch. The clean up. Under no circumstances are you to whip up a lovely brunch for your mom or wife and then leave the dishes in the sink for her to clean later. Promptly shoo her from the kitchen if she even tries to help and remind her of the pile of magazines she has been meaning to read.
Are you planning a special Mother’s Day meal for the special mom in your life? What is your favorite brunch recipe?
