The Idea is Born

The Junior League of Chicago changed the lives of two people, and in suit many expecting families in two big cities. Lane Gulotta and Rachel Pitzel met while volunteering and serving on a committee with the league. Something must have been in the water because half of the committee became pregnant around the same time! Instantly Rachel and Lane grew close (their babies were born days apart!) and both women had the same goal of a healthy lifestyle and passing those good habits onto their children. Their bond grew stronger while they learned and experienced together all about the ups and downs of motherhood.

Club MomMe started because both Lane and Rachel appreciated each other’s support, and wanted every mom-to-be to have the opportunity to share their experiences with other expecting and new moms. They began talking to their friends about the idea of Club MomMe and everyone was very excited about having a support network made up of people just like themselves. Club MomMe officially launched in early 2012 when Rachel relocated to L.A. from Chicago. Both women felt there was a need for a more intimate, mom-supported group and were ready to start giving back to their communities.

The Solution

Club MomMe is a resource for expecting and new moms, educating them with useful parenting advice, baby gear recommendations, essential pregnancy and child-raising info and more. They host a variety of events such as the popular Lunch and Learn series focusing on discipline, sleep solutions and potty training. Club MomMe also hosts events for expectant parents on topics including how to create and navigate a baby registry, breastfeeding basics and Daddy Boot Camps.

Club MomMe & Right Start

“I set my first baby registry up at Right Start and loved how easy it is to use and how helpful the staff is,” says Lane. “After my son was born he kept breaking through his swaddle. It didn’t take long before I started looking for more swaddles and went to the Right Start store in Lincoln Park and told Jennifer, the store manager, my problem. She suggested I try the Summer Infant SwaddlePod. My son has stayed in his swaddle ever since! Of course I told everyone about it, including Rachel, and we have been happy Right Start customers, and now event partners! With baby number two on the way, it’s extremely reassuring to know I can count on Right Start. And who wouldn’t sign up for their awesome baby registry rewards program?”
