There are so many fun holiday family activities to do to get in the holiday spirit. So grab the family, your scarf and some hot cocoa and head out to these fun events.
A Christmas Carol – What could be more festive than seeing Charles’ Dickens classic play filled with memorable Christmas carols. Both A Noise Within and Glendale Centre Theatre are doing the productions and have many showtimes throughout December. I’ve personally been to the Glendale Centre Theatre production many times and seeing it in the round is such a fun experience.
Holiday Boat Parade – If you love Christmas lights than these parades are right up your alley. Marina Del Rey as well as Newport Beach have been doing boat parades for years and each year gets better and better. Check out their websites for times and locations.
Christmas Tree Lane – This grand, mile-long row of cedars in Altadena becomes blanketed in lights each holiday as it transforms into Christmas Tree Lane. Take a drive down the hill after it lights up the second Saturday in December (Dec 12, festival at 2pm, lighting at 6pm).
The Americana – Join them for their Christmas Tree lighting, the seasons first snowfall, performances, fireworks and much more. Festivites start at 7pm on Nov. 19th
The Nutcracker – The Los Angeles Ballet will be performing their timeless classic all over the LA area from Glendale to Northridge, from Westwood and Hollywood to Redondo Beach. It’s a can’t miss this holiday season.
Ice Skating in Downtown – Come glide and pretend there’s snow on the ground at Pershing Square’s outdoor holiday skating rink—one of the biggest in the city. Look out for special events throughout the season, like a Snoopy meet-and-greet and skating showcases.
