I have always called San Francisco home and am thrilled to have the opportunity to raise our daughter in the engaging and ever-changing metropolis. Sure, there are moments when I daydream about living on a cul-du-sac with a huge backyard and porch swing, but I know in my heart I am a city girl. And with that comes the never ending challenge of scouting out the right products to fit in our two-bedroom Noe Valley apartment. I was all for receiving gently-used items from family members, but sadly, we had to decline my sister’s gracious offer to let us borrow her tried-and-true products because most of them could not even fit through our front door!
Here are some great products we have found work for our urban lifestyle. They are all compact and perfect for travel- two very important features for city living.
The Stokke Flexi Bath is perfect for everyday use or for traveling. It is collapsible and can fit under the sink or in a cabinet. It is for ages newborn to four years old, but I recommend getting the newborn insert for the first couple of months.
My husband fell in love with the Inglesina Fast Table Chair because he is an engineer and loved the physics behind it. I love it because it works anywhere, is easy to clean and comes with a handy travel bag. Perfect for early bird specials at San Francisco restaurants!
A handful of friends turned their dining room or living room into a bedroom because the thought of a big move and rent increase made them panic. As a result they had to get creative in floor plans to accommodate their full-size crib. This Babyletto Origami Mini Crib is the perfect solution for tight spaces where a larger crib might not fit and does is not a compromise on style.
If you want to save space and money then I recommend this Mamas & Papas Snug Chair and Activity Tray. Fabulous for your baby to sit in and play. You can read stories to them and even in a pinch it can be a high chair.
We absolutely love our UppaBaby Cruz, but when our daughter gets a little older will be using the UppaBaby G-Luxe stroller for weekend trips and strolls around the San Francisco Zoo, a childhood favorite of mine.
If you are tight on space in your kitchen and do not have room for a sterilizer then you will love the Medela Micro-Steam Bags. I was thrilled to replace our cumbersome sterilizer for this quick, and equally as efficient, method.
