Not just any baby swaddle would work for our two strong girls. I still look enviously at friends who can swaddle their child in those adorable Aden + Anais blankets. Not so simple for my girls. First, we tried the SwaddleMe’s, which while the easiest to use, wasn’t straight-jacket enough to keep their arms in. I’d put them in and hear squawking half an hour later, only to walk in and see an arm – or both – out. Next, we tried the Halo Sleep Sack Swaddles, which both girls also broke out of. Then, at last, we heard of a product called the Miracle Blanket – and like all sleep-deprived parents hoping for that one magic product, we ran right out to buy one. And a miracle it was. Neither girl ever broke out of this baby swaddle, and while it requires a bit more thought to use it (try explaining it to grandparents or a sitter!), the extra hours of uninterrupted sleep was totally worth it. Now I’ve heard there are some babies that don’t need to be swaddled, but in this family we’re all about it.
If you ask this mom whether you should swaddle your baby, you’d’ receive an unequivocal YES!
