When you have a very active toddler it takes a lot of work to keep them from getting
destructive bored. I felt a stroke of genius the other day when my Little Man began throwing couch cushions. I knew he needed to get outside but I just couldn’t muster the strength to go all the way to the park. Instead I grabbed my smart phone and told him we were going on an adventure walk!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Smart phone or camera
- scissors (decorative ones are fun too!)
- poster board
- photo developer app (I used Walgreens) or photo printer
I told my son we were on the hunt for anything he thought was interesting. When he saw something he liked he got to snap a photo of it with my smart phone. He loved getting to take photos and seeing the photo from his perspective showed me just how big things must look to him (do you see that huge truck!?).
During nap time I went to my Walgreens app and ordered the photos from my smart phone. If you can print up your own photos even better. After nap we ran over to the drugstore picked up the prints and came home to make a collage. Little Man loved getting to use the special scissors and taping the pictures onto the poster board. After it was complete he got to choose where to hang it. He couldn’t wait to show it off to Daddy and Grandma, not to mention any friend who came by in the next week.
So there you have it, an easy craft that really doesn’t take much craftiness.
