It’s hard to believe it is already June and Father’s Day is just around the corner. Who’s more worthy of celebration than the guy who will always rescue you, kill spiders for you, sets a good example for your children, and knows his way around the kitchen? I love to read holiday related books with my girls. It really gets them in touch with the meaning of the day and give them a chance to relate their experiences with those of the characters in each book. In honor of Father’s Day I’ve rounded up seven fun dad-centric picture books your children will love reading and maybe they will even get them thinking about how great their dad is too!
Daddies do it Different by Alan Lawerence Sitomer
Everyone knows Daddies do things a bit differently than mommies, and that is perfectly okay.
A Perfect Father’s Day by Eve Bunting
The story of one little girl’s plan to make a perfect Father’s Day for her dad.
What Dads Can’t Do by Douglas Wood
A tongue-in-cheek play on a father’s relationship with their child.
When Dads Don’t Grow Up by Marjorie Blaine Parker
A fun look at dads and their tendency to get goofy and sometimes not act their age.
Daddy Hugs by Karen Katz
A board book perfect for daddy to read to little one while giving out some cuddles too.
Just Me and My Dad by Mercer Mayer
Just Me and My Dad is a classic from the Little Critter series about a father and son camping trip.
Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me by Eric Carl
A great testament to a father’s love and the lengths a dad will go to for their child.
