My littlest guy just turned a year old! Even though I’ve been through this two other times before, I seriously canNOT believe it! Where did the last year go?! This time last year, I was just barely home from the hospital, soaking up baby snuggles and baby smell (all the while being sleep deprived ;) ). And, now we’re doing his first birthday party! WHAT?!

I love throwing parties and especially themed ones at that. There have already been a train, Wild Kratts, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates party for his big brothers. Those themes were much easier to decide on because at older ages, it’s easy to plan around what the kids are interested in. At one, there’s usually not too many favorite characters, shows, activities, or foods just quite yet. So, sometimes deciding on a first birthday theme can be a struggle. I did some browsing to try to decide on a theme and discovered so many cute ideas for baby boy’s first birthday! You can see some of my favorite themes below…1st Birthday Party Ideas for Boys

You can also do something totally unconventional for an amazing party. Check out this “Cake batter rainbow sprinkle” 1st birthday thrown by an amazing baker. Totally adorable! For any theme that you do, I love the idea of doing a first birthday time capsule! How I wish I would have done that for the older boys!

So, now the question is, “what theme did I decide on”? Well, we sometimes call Baby Brother a little monkey, so almost went that route. Then, I really wanted to do owls (it’s a long story). But, a whole new idea just popped into my head a couple days ago and that’s what we’re doing! But, I’m not telling just yet! ;) I’ll be sure to report back here when all is said and done.

What 1st birthday party themes are your favorite?

Kids birthday is always a special occasion and the first verjaardagsfeestje (birthday party) is just memorable. We remember the birthday celebration of our daughter who is 5 years old now. Our party planners had a special theme for her as she was very fond of red color. Somehow the color just attracted her and made her happy. You have also shared some amazing ideas for first birthday parties. Liked them very much.
